Neue Ausgabe von on_education: censorship
The on_education editorial team is pleased to announce the release of the 23rd issue, in which several eminent scholars grapple with a diversity of opinions and perspectives on censorship in education. While recent instances of outrage about censorship in education tend to focus on specific illiberal forms of censorship, this international collection of essays invites a wider and more nuanced perspective.  Questions to be considered include: when and why is censorship harmful? When and why is censorship perhaps necessary? By what authority ought materials to be censored? Does censorship have a legitimate place in education? Or finally, given the contested nature of democratic decision-making and curricular selection, is censorship simply inevitable and perhaps even necessary?  By tackling these and other questions, the editors hope to foster a lively discussion, while also encouraging a number of counter-intuitive perspectives that challenge dominant narratives about censorship in education.
on_education publishes three issues a year. Each issue focuses on one topic of current interest and contains a minimum of five short essays or opinion pieces by invited contributors. An editorial provides an overview of the issue and an introduction to the debate in question.
